GROUP B UPDATE

Route to Orsak's from Waffle House: 95.2 miles / Est. 2 hrs 5 min, which will put us at lunch just before noon (the GPS always over-estimates time).

CAN ANYONE NOT MAKE IT 100 MILES ON A TANK OF GAS?

There is one section, less than a mile, of unpaved road. It is the same the one that we went through on the last ride I led a few of you through - this time, when the first section of dirt ends, we are going to turn to the left and get back to pavement sooner. I will NOT be taking the longer section with a passenger. The short section is ABSOLUTELY PASSABLE by a sport/street bike.

Group B at least jacket, helmet gloves and maybe boots?

Mike/SVmike/group B...ain't nuthin' wrong w/ a little dirt

Idea: Get a list of everybody's name, bike(w/plate #), emergency contacts, and any medical conditions. It really sucked trying to figure all that out when Thorn went down. I'd like to be prepared this time.

Man is just for safety purposes. I am not saying that riders with no full leather are bad riders but if group A is going to pick up the pace well i was there when last accident happened.

GROUP B

MINIMUM GEAR REQUIREMENTS:
DOT approved helmet
Riding jacket
Riding gloves
Over-the-ankle boots
Preferred: Riding pants, riding boots, clear and/or tinted visor, armored gloves

Bike MUST be street legal
NO stunting of any kind
NO passing the ride leader
NO passing in a turn or in the same lane. Act like every other rider in the group is a car on the street, and give them the courtesy of passing in the opposing lane
NO leaving the group early without telling someone first (and getting an acknowledgement that they understood)

RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE! I can't stress this enough. You will not get left behind no matter how slow/cautious you are out there. I'd much rather wait on you at an intersection than have to go back and figure out how to call your mother to let her know you just cracked your head open!

NOBODY gets left behind. I will go over how this is accomplished before KSU, along with the hand/leg signals, etc.

I'll treat group B as a learning experience. 75% of the riding I've done has been in groups, and the more organized the group is and the clearer the expectations are up front, the better the day turns out.

I know, just giving a hard time. I can totally understand setting rules for rideing conduct like wheelies and so on. But not gear. Gear is good and I wear a jacket ,gloves, helmet ect.... Makeing rules to ride on a public road like that is not right. I don't want to see anyone get hurt, but thats an individuals responsability. The way one rides affects others, but not what one wears.

What you wear in case of an accident only affects you true, but remember that you are riding in a group and you should be concern for everyones safety, then it is not a group ride is a bunch of people riding. At least that is how I see group rides but don't mind me, it is just my personal opinion. in my last 3 or 4 group rides there were 1 or 2 accidents on each. Broken ancle, road rash (jeans), broken fingers , toes etc.

Hey, i am not saying don't ride if you don't have leathers, just take it easy.

Ride safe and i hope everyone have fun.

I'm wearing the same gear I do at the track.

I won't be running the same pace but same PP regardless

Most of that was not aimed at what u said alrova. And I agree that people need to wear gear. Everyone should be concerned about saftey, but i'm not gonna tell someone they can't ride cause they don't have boots or gloves. It just should'nt be a rule that you can't ride with out it. If people follow the rideing rules and give people space there should be no problems

Scrapp, ride with me in " A " I'll work with you.

If I'm leading let me know ASAP.
I will need a full name of each rider
Emergancy contact number
any and all medical conditions

Again: Everyone ride at your own pace
We will have a group leader with map and directions as well as a person in the rear with the same map and directions pulling up the back end.
Each road change will not be taken until the group is back as a whole.

Full leathers / Dot helmet / gloves / protective footwear recomended
But, this is your ride. Wear at minimum Jacket + Dot approved Helmet

We going to have fun.
THIS IS NOT A RACE!!!

ALL OTHER RULES WILL BE DISCUSSED AT WAFFLE HOUSE

Regardless of what group you ride in, street legal should be a given - the whole group shouldn't have to wait on someone getting a ticket because they didn't have their sh*t in order.
