I'd probably put it into the touring-friendly sportbike category. :icon_bigg Since they do offer hard bags for the VFR and gave her an easy seating position, it makes it a nice touring bike. On Honda's website, they have it in the sportbike category but to me, a pure sportbike is a bike like the SV650S or any bike with more aggressive ergonomics and a lack of available accessories for touring but more for racing.

The nice thing about the VFR, it does so many things and looks so hot while doing it too.

According to the insurances, it is a "High Performance Bike". :BangHead: When I protested that it shouldn't be in the same category with Gixxers and R6's, my agent went online and looked at the VFR and said "Well, it looks like a fast sportbike to me...."
... 'nuff said.

This has to be the number one question and answers to all of the above.

" IS THAT A NINJA? "

I reply just to shut them up,

" YES, it's a ninja.

LOL!!!! That's the only thing they know. Like every sportbike in the whole wide world is a NINJA. help us.

OH, my favorite next question following the first...

" How FAST does it go? " , following... " How FAST have you got on it? "

and last favorite but not least...

" Have you ever ran away from the cops? "

That's all I ever hear.

No doubt. I think I am going to start saying 300 mph just to see how many people believe it.

Well its just annoying, when people find out through someone else that I ride, or they see me somewhere with my gear sitting in the corner, and they ask what kind of bike
(I guess the whole sportbike gear persona does not tip them off, apparently harley riders are now suiting up in tracksuits?:laughing6 )
And all I tell them its a "sportbike" and they still dont get it. I figured you can put 2 and 2 together.
I just had a string of these morons this last saterday, which compelled me to make the thread.

I get those blank stares all the time. When I first got my bike I was in the habit of telling everyone I ride an '02 Gixxer 750 (aparently that is too many numbers too quickly for most people) and no one got it so now I dumb it down, unless who I am talking to has some knowledge of bikes.

My dumbed down version is "A fast Honda bike" often as a reply to "You ride a Harley?"
