SV1000 might still be up for contention though. It is pretty light weight I think dry weight is like 403.. and its a liter V-twin.

If you're not in control, you're outta control!

OP, if I were you, Id just buy some adjustable clipons/bars for a more comfortable position. Not necessarily risers/drag bar but just something less aggressive or tuneable for you. A much cheaper way to start. And if it doesn't work out, don't forget to include a Z1000 in your bucket of new bike choices I think the Z1000 is such a sexy bike, you hardly see them on the road and they are cheap cheap cheap!!!

I like the KTM v twins and have owned 3 types. 990 Adventure best all around for sport / adventure touring, 990 Super Moto best handling - dirt bike ride position - incredible handling, 990 Super Duke - a lot faster - more precise ss handling. What Id like is a 950 SM chassis with the duker motor.
That Dorsoduro sounds nice.

Maybe it's just me. Or the seating style. But I think my daytona is pretty comfortable. I ride it at that track, and about 2-3K monthly on the street. I've even ridden 800ish in one day. It's no liter bike that's for sure, but it's comfy and quick. I'm looking into a tard for the street next year though, so the triumph can be dedicated track bike.

The dorsoduro is badass. It has the same horsepower and more torque than the V2 Tuonos. It doesn't even have a torque curve, it's just a torque line. Going to hill country in a few weeks and they have a demo setup over at AF1. Will report back, but I can see one of these in my stable in another year when new leftovers are $8k.

Don't get rid of your SS, You'll start wanting one later on... I had nothing but the motard for over two years, it's not enough.

I'm done with super sport bikes on the road. I have been for a while and want something more comfortable. , I have a brand new R6 in the garage with 0 miles for over a month and don't even care to ride it on the street. I do however still like riding them on the track and can't wait to get this one out there.

No I'll have something to keep up with but like a more upright seating position.

Have the KTM but it just wont do what an ss dose and the ss dose not do what the Tard dose. I wish they had a tard that had more power and top speed like an ss/reliability.

Word, when I was looking back into a big bike I would have really liked to own a superduke, but they were asking too much for the used ones I found, and new wasn't available at the time. I don't like the fz1 or the sv1k, and the cb1000r wasn't readily available at the time so I ended up on the R1.
