About the same chances as getting hit on your bike by a 20" flying wheel&tire in the HOV lane. Actually probably not but I get the feeling this happens way more than you'd think.

Ouch!
Years back I got hit by a tailshaft that came off of a dump trucks' rear axle. Some friends and I were going down I-10 on our way to bike night and this thing flew out from under the dump truck in front of us, bounced up and went through my windscreen and hit me in the shoulder.

After it nearly knocked me off my bike, it landed in front of my buddy who then hit it on his FZR100, completely destroying his front wheel.
Crazy stuff!
