Anyone up for a trip to Lafayette, LA kart track ?

I have six days of vacation to use before the end of the year and want to put it in a.s.a.p.

Would rather go this month. I have no plan of attack or anything. Just know i want to go. If not this I may end up doing nothing at all.

It's pretty easy to find it is located in Moore Park just off of I-10. Look on google maps and you'll see Moore Park. You basically just take that exit and turn left. Then look for a little green sign on the right hand side of the road and go back into the park. I'd call the guy who runs it just to make sure he opens it up for you. He lives within walking distance of the park so he can be over there pretty quickly. That's pretty much all he does. It's a lot of fun and he has some go karts both onroad and offroad that he'll let you use all night. Just bring him some beer. Once ya'll have had one too many the bikes go up and out come the karts. Safety first I'd be down but I'm nursing a cracked rib.

well, since you have been there, give us the skinny on the place...
and I don't figure getting you a ride would be too big of a deal.

It's $20 a day. It is about a 3/4 mile track with another equal section of dirt. The dirt turns have berms but no jumps. It's in a city park kind of in the middle of nowhere. It has lights and you can run it all night. Multiple configurations can be ran including entrance and exits onto the dirt. It's about 15' wide and tight. Fun on motards but would probably be even more fun on smaller bikes. Not many people use it so you will have the run of the place. There is no supervision, gear requirements, breathalyzers, drug tests, security, curfew, hours of operation, or tech inspections whatsoever. You can drive a lawnmower around the track, pitch a tent on turn 1 and stay the night if you want. If you stay in a hotel PUT YOUR BIKE IN YOUR ROOM or ask Carl, the track manager, to lock your bikes up in the trailer at the track before he has too much to drink so he remembers that the bikes belong to you. Lafayette gets wild on weekend nights. The video below shows the layout. They didn't have the dirt section in this video.
