Veterans meet/ free meal 11/11

Any veterans wanna get together and eat some free food tomorrow for dinner? There are a couple of places that are giving us free food for Veterans Day....


Last year a couple of us met for a meal at Mcormick and Schmick in Uptown park.

Meeting at Hooters on 59 and Kirby at 1900hrs

how are you supposed to prove you were a veteran...
I have no clue how many years ago I last knew where my DD214 was.

Generally: Full uniform, discharge paperwork, mil. ID are what you need. If you can dig up your uniform and it is properly set up then that may be enough.

I just show my ID, but I'm not a veteran 'cause I would have had to quit to get that status.

Oh, and have fun. I don't think I can make it tomorrow.

they take away your CAC card when you ets. i have my class As set up though, and this part of a brick that an iraqi kid threw at me to provide evidence of my service.

Yea I'm sure they would want some sort of proof. I'm still active so I have my CAC card

I'll post up the places that are doing the free meal in a bit. We got an email with all the places that are participating in it....

Didn't learn your lesson the first time?

Do some searching for service records. I know you can request the information that they have on you. It won't help for this year, but you should be able to pull it for next.

yep, broke down and sent in a request for copies... the wife will need one to bury me with, as I plan on being buried in the VA cemetery...
the only thing i still have is a "yearbook" from boot camp with my picture in it... I was a skinny little back then...
do they still publish boot camp year books?
