Noob-Friendly Ride Saturday 11/12

Alright, folks. Haven't done one of these in awhile due to my busted foot. I've been back on the bike for awhile now and taking it easy. Now that I'm certain my foot will hold up to a day of riding, this is my official back in the saddle ride. For those who have ridden with me before, you know how we do it. Fair warning...I am still taking it easy because my foot limits me, so this ride will be a tad slower than previous rides.

HAVE YOUR T TOGETHER. This means valid driver's license, "M" endorsement, insurance and current registration.

Date: 11/12
Time: 8:45-12:00(ish)

Meet at Panera Bread in Pearland
10621 Broadway Street, Suite 113
Pearland, TX 77584-8078

Pre-ride meeting 8:45. KSU 9:00. Come fueled up and ready to go. This ride will be at a moderate pace from Pearland to Katy. There will be plenty of twisties to keep it interesting. This route will be slightly longer than rides I have hosed in the past, so our stop in Sugarland for gas and a quick break will be as brief as possible. This means do not stand around for 15-20 min and THEN decide to smoke a cigarette. The ride will end at Fuddrucker's in Katy.

At minimum, you need a helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. If I wear all that on a cruiser, there's no reason for you not to on a sport bike. This ride is open to all, but will be taken at a more noob-friendly pace. If even one rider is showing signs of being uncomfortable, we will slow down. No dangerous behavior will be tolerated no matter how much experience you have. If you want to be a douchebag, find another ride. If you want to ride DPSL, find another ride.

Is this for noobs, or just noob-friendly? Last noob-friendly ride I went to, I was the only noob... :(

It's for everyone, but geared toward noobs. I've put several of these rides together over the past few months and usually have a good turnout. It's not a crawl, but we won't be hauling a$$ either. This is a good ride to help those new to riding get more comfortable in turns and gain experience riding in groups.

You're just going to have to be patient on rides to get up to cruising speed on that 250. On our ride I was accelerating at the same rate as an average car.

From my personal experience on my 250, I think an average car under slightly moderate acceleration is a good bit quicker the that bike.

Yeah, I understand. Any trouble I had on Sunday, as far as keeping up, was because I was in the rear behind all the guys who liked to slow down and then haul to catch up. Next time, I'll just slip in behind you

Then once you get off the line, you are in top gear at 45 mph...

You'll be fine. If you make it out, just stay behind me. I keep a consistent pace throughout the ride. You won't have to worry about me pulling away in curves and trying to keep up.

Yeah, pinball's rides are very good for gaining experience. I felt totally comfortable when I went on my first ride with him.
