It seems that when ever bikes crash the police report that the the bike was traveling over 100 mph. While this does happen more often then not this is an exageration on the witnesses and the police officers part. My son got in an accident in '99 when a housewife turned left in front on him and stopped. This was approximately 1 tenth of a mile from the traffic light from which my son turned left from a complete stop. The bike came to rest directly in front of her car, he went over the car and broke his wrist and recovered. According to the police he was doing over 100 mph at the time of impact. Go figure. RIP

not that i advocate going 100 on westhiemer what so ever but the area he wrecked was actually 1093. which far less crowded but still very dangerous.

But I have heard alcohol was involved.

And Trupp, why's she got to be a housewife?

In MSF we learnt that most accidents are caused by people pulling out in front of motorcyclists.

What we can learn from this? Make sure you ride the speedlimit posted, ANTICIPATE cars/trucks to pull out in front of you when you see them waiting at an intersection. Get off the throttle and expect to brake whenever you see a car or truck sitting and waiting to pull out.

RIP Red, I hope your death wasn't in vain.

It could of been anyone, but in this case it was a house wife heading home from the grocery store with a cell phone pasted to her ear. I am an equal opportunity offender, I've seen many male cage riders pull the same trick. That's why we have to be on our game all the time. It doesn't matter who's right or wrong, the rider allways comes up short in a crash with a car or any other cage.
