Another trying to ruin a good. Thing for everyone... not all can afford what it takes for a trackday and some people just want to get a feel for it...dying?? When the have you heard someone even coming close to those injuries on these parade laps??

Not even phil when he took that pretty fast spill...

And this wasn't a wreck on a "group ride" itwas a rider going off track on a parade lap....don't confuse the two to prove whatever stupid point you are making... parade laps are open for everyone, as long as you are in gear...he could have riden there by himself, and still be in the same parade laps with other people...

So,your "group ride" point is not working here.

Uh, I believe there were crashes in both novice and intermediate yesterday, so unless you're riding two up behind the instructor, he or she can't control your bike.

When was the last RIP post from a group ride? I'd like a link

Parade laps are controlled to the best of the org's ability. The only way to absolutely make sure no riders abuse the scenario is to either assign each attendee a personal control rider or eliminate parade laps all together. It's a difficult choice that org's have to make and there will always be a risk factor. We all know that some riders show up for parade laps with notions of glory in their heads.

It would be better to focus on the responsibility of the riders to control themselves according to their skill level. SS takes responsibility for his actions and that's the way it should be.

I've noticed your attention lately to Fastline threads. Aren't you affiliated with another TD org? I'm not 100% positive on this, but it seems like you have an agenda you're trying to push without being overly obvious. If that's not the case then it's my mistake for perceiving things incorrectly. However, if your opinion is biased by your loyalties perhaps you should refrain from commenting.

I feel .. for a "parade lap" there should be a controlled speed limit!
like the CMRA... ahead of the "new riders"!

I do see too many RIP threads from group rides, you dont Bevo? you actually want a link?

Im just trying to "promote safety" for the NEWB...

and I have NO affiliation with any organization,
but I do like to promote and support learning at the track and racing in the CMRA

If this is true, this guy is a bigger pos than i thought....

It's a thing to do, no matter what org you prefer....

I noticed this a while back from people and called out the BS...in my opinion, all orgs are good anddoing a good job the waythey do things...all working towards same goals...

It's about preference...I've had a good time at both that I've used.

The one he might find will be the one from one of my rides...

The person that went down and passed was not a noob, had been riding for years and was not a stranger to group riding (I had even been with him on a ride a year back)..he made a mistake, and cost him dearly...

Yeah, I'd forgotten about Wesley's death but that had nothing to do with lack of experience of excessive speed which Marty seems to insinuate

Yes, I was infront of him trying to keep the pace slower. No one is suposed to crash on a parade lap. Just like it sounds, Parade not trying to set lap records. He slowed down and i thought he was going to keep the same pace but as soon as i let him go infront of me, he started trying to push it too hard in the corners.

I see lots of riders try to haul but down the straight and then dont know what to do when they get to the turn.

I hope to see a lot of you guys out at the track in full leathers and the right gear and learning the right way. The parade laps are just to give you a chance to check out the track and try to get you out to do some track days.

Watching a lot of the guys out there it looked like most were riding over there limits when I saw lots of people going wide on turns. And passing too close on corners. There is only supposed to be passing in the straights.
I am thinking top speeds for the parade laps should be around 50 to 60. It is not the straights that people get in trouble on, it is when they get to that first turn.

I think with instruction you could be a fast rider but yesterday was just a parade lap.
I would like to see you out doing a track day with Fast Line.
If you cant afford it talk to tim about corner working for credit, we were short one cornerworker yesterday.
I have an extra set of boots, leathers, gloves to get you on the track. I think you will have a blast.

If you really want to do a track day you can do it pretty close to free. a ride, and then maybe some extra gas for your bike. Might be able to do a whole day on one tank. That 250 at gss is a fun bike. I want to get another. If you learn to ride it right you will be passing 600's and 1k's.

If you need anything just send me a PM and I will see what I can do.

How much does a trackday cost? And what's involved in corner working?
