it is also to keep you from looking in to the fukkers and up your flow.

same reason some people tape up their speedo, so it doesn't distract them from what is important

OP has shown good decision making skills by getting a proper new rider bike, to bad the mindset ddn't follow thru, just cuz your straight lining at "your limit" doesn't mean chit, your over your head already.

Best of luck, don't die cuz it hurts. And make sure you have good medical Ins. and some life insurance so your parents don't have to foot the bill to buRy you

Troof hurts.

+1

Im surprised only a couple of people have hit this point. I dont know you and its not my intention to chastise you or criticize your riding. Some people learn quicker than others, and you may well be one of them.

But I think it would be wise for you to step back, take your time, and let your skills grow and solidify. Time in haste and time spent idling are one and the same; they are both a waste of time. Good luck.

Hmmm... that is completely weird because when I was in class at the two different organizations of track school, it was mentioned that another reason was what I said...and also for the tail lights is to not focus on others in front of you braking lights..

i know i shouldn't post it but...
This was a noob ride (and announced as a noob ride, go figure on the rides board). All riders were briefed before the ride to ride within their limits. All riders were aware that the group will wait for them at the next intersection. It WAS a noob ride with slow pace. The only time we opened up it was on the straight before the track and it WAS announced that we gonna do this at the gas stop, and riders WERE told not to follow if they not comfortable.
Now about the crash... SS dropped the bike in most controlled and safe environment you can get - the track. All riders were instructed properly and signed the waver before parade laps. Accidents happen - bad luck, but what is the better place to practice riding instead of track?
so for internet cowboys who were not even there, in what part OP wasn't following his safety mindset??
