hmm left lane = passing lane. or drive slower than the rest of traffic lane in houston.

folks in the left lane not passing people on the highway and not taking a left exit is a pet peeve of mine.

Yeah bro, if the OP was in the left lane. I'd say sorry you got scared but...lesson learned. The left lane is not for cruising at 80ish. It's about courtesy

yup. plus just cruising (or driving) by yourself in the left lane makes you stick out like a sore thumb if a cop is on his radar/laser gun. not passing in the left lane also messes up traffic when people try to pass the slower moving vehicle on the right.

Courtesy would also mean you don't pass someone in the lane they are in.

So I take it that it's my fault for driving faster than the other traffic i saw in the fast lane?

I'll take that heat about being in the fast lane if i wasn't going faster than all of the NORMAL traffic. But that doesn't excuse passing me in the same lane like i was part of your group or even knew you were coming. And this is coming from someone who regularly scans their mirrors.

I hate people who drive slow in the fast lane and refuse to move over. But if you were doing 15 over the limit and got passed by bikes doing well over 100 MPH then there's no fault on your part.

imo, if OP was in the process of passing people, i wouldn't be bugged with him in the left lane assuming he moved into a right lane when safely possible.

also imo, bikers going an estimated 130+ and passing in an occupied lane are dangerous whether OP was or wasn't passing in the left lane.
