Supermoto vs sportbike

Who would be faster on a tight circuit like this? Just wondering what peoples opinions are.

From the looks of the video, supermoto would be the one. It's strange how the they position themselves in a turn. It is the opposite of a sportbike and you don't see a knee down but a foot.

its opposite of a sport bike but it is just like motocross/supercross inside foot out by the front tire to put more weight out there so the front end doesnt wash out on you....

good video, i will have to upload some of my DVRs from this years super moto season, one shows doug henry and a sport bike on a course

**one though about who would win, those bikes look like they are moving fast through the corners but the suspension is set up for jumps also, so i think a 600 could take them, 1000 may be 2 heavy to swap back and forth through the S turns, IDK though ive never raced sport bikes**

Maybe it's just me but I can't stand rap...

but the vidoe was good, I think on that track the supermotos would rule the day. Unless they brought out the carts.

I wonder what effect there would be if a person with skill,i.e. not me, was to ride a supermoto like a sportbike? Hanging off has advantages on a sportbike why not a s/m?

The "true" supermotos run a dirt/achalt track with jumps. In the CMRA they obviously don't do that, so most of the SM bikes are ridden kinda like a sportbike. Lean off the bike & knee out type riding.

X2

Just motocross with slicks and no whoops or hills.
i bet its killer fun too being able to whip those light bikes around turns so effortlessly. i used to race dirtbikes and when i got on my first sportbike, it more or less rode me. you can't throw a gixxer around quite as easyly as a yz250.

i was thinking the samn thing. buy a 450F and you could run it on a dirt track, then slap some slicks on it and hit the road course. best of both worlds
