It was a Extended cab truck... I didn't think he would get caught... just didn't want something bad to happen to him i.e. debris on shoulder, Car pulling onto shoulder, hit while trying to split through traffic to get away...

I don't know why it has been different for me up to this point (I'm certainly not a kiss ), but every time I've been pulled over for driving very high speeds, the general response of the LEO is "bla bla bla, don't want to do the fatality paperwork, but I really appreciate you stopping". The end result has generally been a 10 over ticket. Maybe being a veteran helps My only real with police is that they insist on being a reactionary force, rather than prevent problems in the first place, and the abuse of power that I read about at least once a week.

I guess I have too for that matter. But never with one actually behind me. Ive seen them trying to turn around and get me and such but i just quickly hide while im ahead. Never ran high speeds with them behind me. I might not agree with the ticket but to me it isnt worth me putting my life, the cops life, and anyone in the ways life at risk. But then again im just a selfish a$$ lol

I don't think that slack should be expected, but I think we actually earned it up to a certain point. If that isn't morally correct, I pretty sure I can still live with it.

My old man used to say, people break the law all the time everyday, you don't get in trouble for breaking the law, you get in trouble for getting caught breaking the law. Never really knew what that meant until I started riding a bike.

If your putting yourself or other people at risk then your not doing it right

The thing that helped me out of the most tickets was working at a stop-n-go kinda store in HS. for that 6 months or so I probably was let go like 6 or 7 times. I even got my dad out of one.

+10 to the bolded portion only. I honestly don't care who passes whatever law. I have the right to do whatever the I want to do as long as I don't put others in danger (except for the you just my wife exclusion, which is a whole other ball game). Of course, if some LEO decides there is a problem with that I'll have to take whatever consequences result from it. If someone gets hurt due to my negligence, it is my opinion that the right to do what I want becomes null and void and my should be grass. If it isn't, then that is due to the stupidity of society in general.

I have never ran, but fear wasn't the issue for me. As far as I am concerned, other than issues concerning my OWN principles of right and wrong, every action is based on a cost/benefit ratio for me (other than familylife or people I care about and/or love). If the risk outweighs the benefit of the action, then it is not in my best interest to do so (assuming my stability is somewhere within the norm at the time of the event). IMO, in this particular case, it is anyone's legitimate choice to run every single time, assuming their choice to do so doesn't put others in danger, but you have to take the consequences of your actions without being a about it to maintain any kind of real respect for yourself. For me, the cost of getting caught running from the police is too high and doesn't make sense 99.99% of time (in the scenarios that I can imagine off the top of my head), so I've never done it. Obviously, many won't agree with me, but my point is to live free, make your own decisions, and deal with the results of those decisions whether you like them or not. Imagine how this world would be if people exercised the freedoms they should actually have, and took responsibility for what they did without crying about it.
