Inspection Sticker Placement

Where does everyone put there inspection stickers on there bike? I'm going to be headed to Galveston this weekend, and want to make sure I dont give anyone a reason to cite me.

Most people put it on the swingarm. I put it under the seat cowl, I believe you just have to have it on you.

I've always it has to be on the bike, facing the rear. Anything else will give them a reason to pull you over.

ATTACHMENT OR PRODUCTION OF INSPECTION CERTIFICATE.

(a) An inspection certificate shall be attached to or produced for a vehicle in the manner required by department rule.

(b) The department shall:

(1) require that a certificate for a motorcycle be attached to the rear of the motorcycle near the license plate; and

(2) adopt rules with respect to display of an inspection certificate for a moped.

Leaves room for the cops judgement. Mine is on opposite side of swing arm from plate. That could be too far. Its only about 10" away, but who says it's "near"?

2 things, the law states that it has to be visible from the rear of the vehicle, but most officers won't give you grief if you have it on the swingarm. Second it is illegal for a state inspector to hand you a sticker, If you wanted to carry the slip from the state inspector that shows the dates and says you passed then you can carry that on you, but legally the vehicle owner should never possess an unused sticker. It should go from the state inspectors hands directly onto the vehicle. "just sayin"
