Comment on CALI bikes

Hi guys,

I was reading the thread from speedismo & 2 people mentioned something about restriction on emission on cali. bikes. Could someone throw more light on this. What might be wrong with the bikes if I buy one from cali. Is it gonna have problem with inspection? any other issues. Any info. would be really helpful.

thanks

California emissions laws are some of the most stringent in the country. I know that for my bike the California issue had a standard catalytic converter on the exhaust system.

so if the bike is equipped for stricter standards, it should be able to pass the inspection in TX easily. What about the maintenance part on the bike itself. Do I need something special to maintain it?

well as far as working on the bike and ordering parts, obviously some of the parts are going to be different. mostly the bike is the same, but there may be slight differences here and there. make sure your parts guy understands you have a california model. the microfiche should contain notes if anything is different.

You won't have a problem bringing a bike from Cali. They don't check emissions on biked here [yet].
