Colin Edwards' Texas Tornado Boot Camp - It's A Blast!

Octoberfest was a fun time at the Texas Tornado Boot Camp, and more than one MH person came out to enjoy the festivities. Colin, still banged up from the tragic incident that took place at the Malaysian GP a little more than a week ago, and scheduled for surgery this Wednesday, could not ride, of course, but was there to offer his sage advice to all the students. Additionally he showed the folks, native to Texas and otherwise, how we like to have fun in the Lone Star State.

I threw this little video together earlier today and didn't plan on it going public because it wasn't finished, but it was leaked by a few so I'm throwing it up here for the of it. I'm in the process of doing a YouTube audioswap, and that takes time (sometimes it never happens). Hopefully there will some background music soon. Since this was made from stills and high-speed video, there could be no actual sound. Next time we'll put more cameras on the whole deal and plan for a bigger bang.

You can watch in HD, but the video isn't shot in HD. I seem to be hearing sound in 1080 whereas I don't in low-res.

No. I went out of my way to avoid her. Yes, of course I did. She knew me before I knew her, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Anyway, she's awesome.

Yeah, Freddie was there all weekend. It's very cool to ride with him on the track. The man still has "it".

Colin's physically good enough to shoot, but not good enough to ride. Emotionally he's pretty good. Racing is a dangerous sport. He knows that.

It was a real treat to be able to have Freddie freaking Spencer tell me that he wanted to go a few laps with me!! I've never looked at him as a big deal, just another guy to me, but once we started chatting about random things (i never asked about his past/history in life) he was actually quite a cool man, i enjoyed chasing and being chased by one of the greats..

Johnathon Green (WSBK commentator) was also on hand for some humor, and he ended up riding in our group for a couple of hours.

I had a great weekend, worked with a couple guys and it really is worth the hard work, dedication and time investment that the instructors put out once you start seeing the students making great strides of progress!

It's amazing what people can accomplish when you share a bit of insight on "self confidence". Good luck to you Thomas!!

and thanks again to Linz for allowing me to ride his TTR125 in Saturdays superpole, the first time i had ever given the bike a second look, much less swung a leg over it and rode it, i was able to put in my personal best ever S/P lap of a 1:31.xx. I even got to crash it one time, in return, i got the double bird AND a picture!!! can't wait to see the pic.

great shots Linz, notice where i'm looking, right at Joe P so, that is exactly where i ended up. for some very odd reason, i target fixated on Joe (he's not very pretty to look at), (incidentally, the TTR's front suspension was quite stiff with me on it,) so i was struggling with turning the bike in that turn.

My zombie baby and I decided to go for a ride during Super Pole. There were many other cool costumes. I'll have to post some of them up as soon as my buddy finishes processing them.
