I used to change it every 1500 miles with a plain jane FRAM oil filter and motul 5100....

I love the smell of motul 5100..... like candy!

Now I just do it every 2500 or so miles and still use a fram oil filter.

I've seen a few where the paper had just turned to mush after 2-3000 miles, not much filtering going on at that point.......and lots of mush in the oil passages:eh:

do they sell a 4qt bottle? I suck at measureing out. When I did the oilchange on the ninja, I drained it completly, put in the "reccomended" ammount, and the whole window was filled up.

4qt bottle would be a gallon. usually have a bottle that i get the .10 from in the garage. Trick is to fill it up with 4 qts. fire the bike up and let run for a minute and the top off if required. sometimes you wont have to because of left over oil in the system.

I use one of these. It makes it real easy to measure exactly.
It only costs about $5.00 at any Auto Parts store.

Whats the Best Motor Oil??
