My SV650 one year later

A little more than a year ago, I picked up my 5th SV650 from a soldier who laid it down and parked it for a couple of years. He was getting ready to move to Alabama and his wife had no desire to take it with them. Given that is was not running and had some rust in the tank, I took the chance and lowballed him. Low and behold, he accepted so I made the trek to Waco to pick it up.

Here's what she looked like (for the most part) when I brought her home.

sv

Fast forward, one year. In September I bought a GSXR Front End complete and a rear wheel to begin the transformation to my version of what Suzuki should have built all along.

Almost all of the visible mods, have been done over the past 5 weeks. I did my best acquiring all of my parts from small business owners, including 2 local ones, Motorcycles Unlimited (front headlight) and Two Wheel Toyz (rear tire). Other vendors include Dale Walker Holeshot Racing (exhaust), Bohemian Racing (levers), HammerGrips (tankgrips), and Twin Works Factory (GSXR Rear wheel kit).

Bike is not yet finished but is legal enough to ride at this point. Future mods include Vaypor Gauges, Exhaust Heel Guard and a few other odds and ends.

IMAG0103

Big thanks to those folks who helped me along the way (you know who you are). I have some more pics from today's ride trying to find the best backdrop to showcase my efforts, and I will likely add to the thread later this week.

Did I mention, she's got a 180 rear now.

, looks so much nicer!

Real streetfighter. Probably not what you're going for but you could always throw a small shot on it for the little extra attitude, lol.

great looking bike, I have my 1k torn apart right now thinking of ways to put my exhaust under my seat (or some other location)....I'm into how it looks with no farrings on it...thinking I may keep it that way, I like the head light you got...what did that come off of?

Lsl urban headlight. It is modeled after yamaha mt-03 headlight from Europe. Quality is awesome with brackets and clamps included. Call Luke at motorcycles unlimited as he ordered mine for me. They ain't cheap but once you see one you will understand why.

So far so good. The gsxr front is twitchy. Kind of like a chic with turrets giving you a bj. It feels so good, but a little bit of shaking and you are .
