Do what i would do. When ur boss aint looking break into his car and plant some crack underneath his seat in baggies. Then call ur dm to inform him that u think ur boss is dealing to kids and this is not the kind of publicity your company will want if he gets arrested, this will get u in his or hers good graces. Then call the cops anyways and tell them your manager is selling crack in the parking lot so the fugger will go to jail and lose his job for taking to long to hook u up with a raise. Do what i tell you and dont consider this an option

It seems that your boss is probably afraid of talking to the DM about the raise... I'd ask the Dm myself especially if your boss doesnt want you to transfer out. Your boss isnt looking out for your best interest, but they seldom do.

I'm about to leave the company I am with for a new job in the same field. I've had enough with 'em...even if that raise was to come in January, it's been too long. Talking money with a boss is no fun...that is why I'm gonna walk in and give my 2 weeks. If he tries to match the offer, too bad. Should have thought about it sooner.

Yeah your prob right. My problem is, he is giving the hourly associates raises before me. Alot of them. Not only is he giving them raises, but in order to get one you are supposed to be with the company at least 6 months. He is giving hourlys their raises EARLY! And yes, he has to get their raises approved by the DM first.

I think you should walk right up and kick your boss in the grapes so hard his feet come off the ground a good foot or so.
then ask for a raise

Man you should just look for another job and when you find a better one, quit. I worked for Cingular for two years and busted my when i was there. I was always a top performer and have been number one a few times out of all the reps in my district and from a revenue standpoint i had to be the one of the best in the company. And after all that i only recieved a raise of a dollar over a two year period. I mean wtf!?? Thats 50 cents a year for me busting my . Fug that. I asked for a raise and my boss said he will talk to my dm and that they would work somethiing out. Well i got tired of waiting and applied for a position at Tmobile that a friend of mine, my current manager, wanted me to take. When i got my approval letter i put in my two weeks and in that time nothing happened. No call, no offer, nothing. So I left and now Cingular has lost one of their best reps. Believe me when i tell u that the only person who will look out for you is yourself. Trust no one

If you feel like you're not getting compensated fairly then ask for a raise. If they don't want to give you a raise then find another job.

Find the other job first so you have some leverage.

E-mail is good to build leverage. You get nothing from a verbal commitment to "look into it".
E-mail him asking for a firm date for an answer about your raise. If there is no response or the answer is unsatisfactory. Its time to move on.
You nail him for an answer and hold him to it. Thats how I work that corporate bullshit.
