What IS illegal is distracted driving, plus the things that distraced drivers do. Perhaps she got pulled over for "failure to maintain a proper lane" or something along those lines.

Is there more to the story? There's people on the phone at nearly every red light you come to. Did she actually DO something stupid, or is this just a random act of unkindness?

Can't bash the OP's actions too bad; I f---ing despise all the cagers on phones. I still cast my vote for THREAD FAIL due to lack of info. Everything depends on what happened when she got pulled over.

I dunno, this whole thing smells fishier than Granma's underwear.

i applaud the OP, more people need to be doing that. I am sick of seeing drivers unable to maintain a safe speed on the freeway, unable to maintain lane position on any road, and all because they have a phone call or text message that is so important it stops them from driving with proper care and attention. If the call or message is so important that you are unable to be safe then pull over and finish it THEN drive. I already know one person that rolled their car after losing control while texting and driving, and I have seen dozens of crashes caused by distracted drivers talking ot texting, sometimes they only destroy property, and sometimes they send others to the hospital.

I bet nobody would think twice about flagging down the law if they saw a drunk driver, yet there is already research out there that shows that texting and driving is at least as dangerous and driving drunk.

street cowboy joined the army, got into a motorcycle wreck last year and lost his leg. he is married and just rolled his 4x4 ford a couple weeks ago and bought another. he left those wild kid days behind and turned in to a stand up guy. you can find him on facebook if you are on there.

I was gonna ask where that frame of reference came from, but then I realized I really don't want to know. At all

So if I reply to a text while I'm sitting at a traffic light in my truck I'm somehow endangering other drivers?

I can understand if I'm swerving along the interstate trying to sext my pastor I'm a hazard, but while sitting still at a light...
