I come up to a stop light...

To the Left of me was some young girl who was texting, and yapping away on her phone.
To the Right was a Sheriff..

WTF?! So she wasn't driving and texting she was sitting and texting...I wonder if this is even a real story...So you just gave him the signal and he was like yeah I totally know what you mean, I'm gonna get her. And then he pulled her over?

I look over at the sheriff, get his attention, and gave him a hand signal (I put my hand against my helmet like im talking on the phone and i reverse a little so he can look over at the dumb broad to my left.. He looks at me a nods his head like hes gonna take care of it.

and .....

The bitc* gets pulled over, and I save myself and other motorcyclist from getting carelessly run over because she wasnt paying attention to the road.
Was this the hand signal?

If the stupid wants to talk on the phone at the red light, let the broad do it.

CAN you direct me to said law? I've never heard or even seen such 2 minute law in my life.

and how exactly is that enforcable?

"you know why you were pulled over?"

"ummm...no"

"you were talking on your cell for two minutes and thirteen seconds, when there is clearly a two minute law here in houston"

...said cop writes the citation, gets back in his car and finishes his cell conversation.

Christ, no one but the driver and the cop know all the details... cop might have watched and followed to see if she put the phone down or comitted some other violation.

OP didn't make the cop stop her, he gave a heads up is all... cop was the one who decided wether or not to follow up and what action to take.

AS for 'school zone', no zone...but there's a high shool right on I-45/Cypresswood and plent of that love to blow the red light and ignore the stop signs.

i'm looking. here are some other pertinent laws

TX Transportation Code 545.425

Under this new law a Defendant commits a Class C Misdemeanor offense if he/she uses a cell phone or mobile device in a school zone, unless he/she is stopped or using a hands-free device. Note: this applies if the jurisdiction has posted a sign giving notice of the law.

Additionally, bus drivers with minors on board may not use a cell phone or mobile device whether or not the driver has a hands-free device.

Also, drivers under 18 in certain instances may not use cell phones while driving whether or not they use a hands-free device.

i can't find it... maybe it never went through or was repealed. for a while years back there was a deal in houston that you could not be with a phone to your head for more than 2 minutes.
