DING, DING, DING!

case in point, some time ago we were talking about guns here, and someone said "Taurus are ALL trash"

So I asked him if he had tried ALL Tauruses.

No more response after that.

Frank Thomas did not go under. CG just no longer carries it.

LOL Touche....

To be fair though - their quality has gone up quite a lot in the past 10 years. I would never have bought it if it were unreliable.

I don't know about that. A year or so ago I did a photo shoot with Stubbs. One of their V-Rods pulled up dragging its shifter because the pin had fallen out.

That's not HDs fault. That's the moron who screws them together. A single example is not indicative of the entire line either.

Mine has over 25K trouble free miles on it - and I sure don't ride it like most HD owners...

Nah - seriously Bevo - they've come a LONG way.

I treat my bike like most people treat a car. I give it gas, change the oil and otherwise ride the snot out of it. I expect anything mechanical these days to be near bulletproof. HD is way past the AMF days when they would drop parts on the way home from the dealer.

Morvegil put something like 50K on his VRSCDX and you know how he rides. Zero mechanical problems he didn't cause himself...

Ask anyone who has an HD made in the last 10 years or so. They'll tell you the same. The bikes are as reliable as anything else mechanical.

Excellent ride - the road glide is HD's best kept secret - and far and away their best touring bike.
