yeah maybe so, i didn't really look at the Dainese much but the A* gloves were definitely out of the norm.

It is better than nothing, and as some others have said, I might have considered it at one time when I first started riding. Now? no.
How many items did you check, inspector?

As far as comfort, they feel fine and sturdy. Size wise, the 9 was a bit too tight and the 10 a bit too loose. I went with the 10 and I like them so far with the exception of the size. Quality on them is better than I had expected for them being $75, that being the only reason I bought them.

Engineering is equally as important as quality materials. A* and others spend the time and money to engineer there products, test them in racing and through standards, etc. Bilt and other knockoffs look the part, but do we know if anyone tests them for wear/tear, protection, etc?

I'll stick with AlpineStars

Dainese > All.
do the same with Dainese - see if they will take the beating
otherwise you experiment is incomplete and worthless

Joe rocket all day, the cg brands will work, but I hate to see a nice bike with a crapy cg jacket or helmet on it plus the colors they make are ugly

well, i'd still say you experiment is not correct. you said you dragged some items down the road for a few blocks and comparing it to you jacket in which you came off at 40 m/h. for your jacket to do its job protecting you, but i kinda doubht that you were sliding for a few blocks in your crash. If you want a proper comparison you should have dragged similar items down the same road for the same distance with same speed - only then some meaningfull conclusions could have been made.

i bought the same boots but that was when they were on sale for $100

IMO, they do the job. Other than have less mobility around the ankle, i dont have a problem with them. they protect fairly good

its loose around the calve area so i gotta kinda fold and stuff my pants in that area to keep it secure

remember what happened to Frank Thomas CG gear?

No more Frank Thomas...only BUILT now.

So when BUILT goes under just like Frank Thomas did, what good is that 3 or 5 year warantee on the gear?

2 pairs of gloves that I purchased from cycle gear this year. Both A*

The first pair cost about 59-69$, (forgot the exact amount) Got them from CG here in Houston, 59 @ Beechnut. The gloves came apart at the seam, close to strap of the glove. I returned them with no trouble at all.

The 2nd pair were priced at $99.99 + Tax. I paid for them, no problem. This was back in July, only 3-4 months ago. Now, they have came apart in the exact same location as the previous pair. Not only that, but also along the stitching where your fingers rest.

I even tried using different sizes, I wear a 2xl in gloves, but opted for an xxxl this time around. That didn't solve the issue

Fark it, he's got a point... 'we' have a tendency to 'trash' things or denigrate items/actions with little real thought to testing or consideration of merit. It's Bs.

I looked at enough to realize I wouldn't wear it BUT it is better than nothing. Truth be told, I like the styling of some of the stuff, i just cant get past the build quality.
