Proves nothing. It's already been pointed out twice in this thread, the list is in no particular order.

IF they have a unit in the area that can get there in a reasonable amount of time. I always heard they cant keep you for more than an hour to bring a noise meter or drug dog. Never found out first hand but have had a friend who was let go because of this.

Kind of have to laugh at the list. Looks like City of Houston is in violation too since trash collection and construction is on the list.
Should I call in every minute I'm in my 24th floor downtown office about the road construction being too loud and disturbing my productivity?

Problem is, they are allowing cops to use their OWN judgement to decide when you're breaking the law.

Like the lawyer states, that's like allowing a cop to ticket you because he thinks you're speeding without using a radar gun to verify the speed.

what we have here is a conception problem...
folks like the infamous officer are percieved by us to be ... but to the folks in these little exclusive communities, they are percieved as heros... those folks in places like memorial village, university place, river oaks... do not want us riding thru their communities... their city counsels listen to them, their glorified special rent a cops are only acting on the desires of the folks who pay their salaries...the fact that they get off on it is a seperate issue... their hollywood style makes the locals happy...it is going to continue to happen whether ordinances like this one stand or not.... small exclusive communities will always be this way, that is why the people who live there choose those places...

Not changing mine

The hard part the po-po are going to have with this with motorcycles is the ambient noise combined with ensuring the testing conditions are constant, and that they don't detain anyone for too long while waiting for an officer certified in the proper use of a sound meter.

doubling the fine to $1000 makes an incentive for cops to generate revenue and make it worth waiting an hour or so for a sound meter. add a speeding ticket and possible lack of M endorsement like a cherry on top with sprinkles.

I recently installed after-market exhausts on my bike, and I have not had a single individual attempt to merge into my lane with me near them -- just saying! I will still ride defensively, but I have noticed a difference...
