How did moving your bike hurt your bike in any way? I don't see how moving your bike was deserving of keying his car when you were the one not parked properly in the motorcycle parking. He wasn't going to damage your bike, just trying to get a good parking spot like you. Unfortunate people like you don't know how to park a m/c properly and then have that mentality and just get off for no reason without thinking things through.

I was going to do that. But it would have just been him saying, "I never moved your bike." He had to learn a lesson.
Yeah a $2,000 lesson. As a Jeep owner I would have kicked the ever living out of you. So what, he moved your bike. Man up and confront him, don't be a and key his . And besides, did he damage your bike when he moved it???? No, he hurt your because he touched your bike. Waaaah waaaaaah.

I would have broken his window/mirror or put a knife into his jeep's soft top.

You don't touch another man's bike.

See, I'm kinda with you ^ kinda. I agree that moving the bike was also a move that deserves retaliation. All these people saying it was no big deal are tripping. I don't want ANYBODY moving my bike.

Problem is OP took the route too. He keyed even though he could easily have manned up and gone toe to toe with the dude.

OK,so the guy moved your bike. It wasn't damaged.

why not confront the douche? show him who the boss is by "educating" him about touching other person's stuff.

What he did was bad, what you did was worse.

Correct, but if he did, and he goes the same route as you, he may kick your bike over next time, since all the "it was a dude in a chevy cobalt" bullshit gave you away that you in fact did the keying.

Sherlocks on Westheimer has a spot reserved for bikes, I remember being cause a car was parked there, and we had to park in a regular spot. It never even crossed my mind to move the car and park my bike there. But if I did, I would expect to find my kicked over by the owner of the car I moved.

Some of you have good points here. He didn't know if the Jeep moved his bike.

However, if he was away from his bike for a short period and it was obvious who moved it, the cage owner should be a response in the form of a busted up vehicle.

I don't think anyone's saying that just moving the bike is ok. Had that been all that happened and he told us the story about how he talked to the guy like an adult and had him apologize, we would probably be giving him his props and would be on his side.

The thing is, what he did so far outweighs the jeep owner's actions, that it's pretty much a moot point and forgotten, because in the end it just doesn't matter.

He was at work for a full shift. And you're an idiot if you really think that warrants actual property damage.
