I think so.
I try not to listen to music.

The only time I listen to music (iPod shuffle) is when I have to ride freeway for a long time.
I get so bored, I start not paying attention or get sleepy...

IMO very bad idea. If I'm in my truck I have my music blasting, but you can be less cautious. When you're riding and listening to music it just seems like your senses are less hightened because your focus is split.

I listen to 1. Have it turned down so that I can barely hear it over the exhaust. Doesn't distract me since I can barely hear it. But I ride 1 hr each way to work and back.

I used to listen to my mp3 player when I was riding to work on the hour commute.

I would say that it did distract me a little bit.

Yeah, Ive had this debate with myself before and I decided not to do it. I primarily listen to punk rock, and that would be a bad idea. Id ride way too fast and not pay attention. Unless you listen to something really mellow it seems that IMO, one might get themselves into trouble.

Just sing to yourself at the top of your lungs, its great fun. Just imagine some car load of cagers seeing you drive by, looking cool and doing what they wish they were doing, all the while they have no idea you're singing YMCA to yourself under your helmet!
lol

I listen to my ipod quite a bit while riding, it really doesnt distract me cause I can be riding and i wont even realize i already listened to a couple of songs i like. Its like i dont realize i already listened to some songs because my mind pays attention to the road more, and its not like i ignore the music sometimes. guess its all done at the unconscious level?

I listen to mine, but I have earphones wired into my cheek pads so I don't have anything directly in my ears! This way it is not very loud I can barely hear it, so it doesn't distract me!

Danger Zone
Kenny Loggins
By Giorgio Moroder, Tom Whitlock

Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go

Highway to the Danger Zone
Ride into the Danger Zone

Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the track
And shovin' into overdrive

Highway to the Danger Zone
I'll take you
Right into the Danger Zone

You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do
Until you get it up as high as you can go

Out along the edges
Always where I burn to be
The further on the edge
The hotter the intensity

Highway to the Danger Zone
Gonna take you
Right into the Danger Zone

Highway to the Danger Zone
