short tail of the dragon ride

i posted this on hayabusa.org, but thought i'd share here too. the dragon's tail/deal's gap is on the tennessee/north carolina border in the smoky mountains. 300+ turns in one 11 mile stretch of it i think.

was awesome even though i'm slow. BEAUTIFUL ride.. one of those moments when you're glad to be alive. highly suggest keeping it in mind as something to do in your lifetime. and i'm pretty sure they rent sportbikes around that area too; dont have to drag yours there. might even be smarter to rent one; with few guardrails and steep cliffs at the edge of the sharp turns, its unforgiving. i'm a novice rider, but i bet most of you guys could tear it up out there.

gopro on the front of the bike taking pictures every couple of seconds.. the pics of me on the bike were taken by killboy.com.

I noticed that whole novice with a turbo busa too. LOL

I went there the second week in August and it is beautiful. I drove the cobra up there and it sounded badass through the valleys with the blower whining!!

If anyone is thinking about going you can get killer deals on cabins that are sick for very cheap compared to what typically hotels cost. 4-6 bedroom cabins with theaters, hot tubs, game rooms ect..ect for under 500 a night. Split that between a few folks and its gravy!

seriously, i've ridden a lot of different bikes over a lot of years but i know i'm not fast and dont have the skills that go-fast people have.

thx for the compliments on the pics ( and the bike! )..

and thanks for the heads up on the skyway.. i'll have to check it out for sure next time around. i'm just hoping to have more than one afternoon to ride next time.

hey.. one thing i can say about the turbo up there: was the first time i could really listen to the thing spool. around houston its so flat that you can only spool it by haulin and then the dump pipes are too loud and you're going too fast to enjoy it. up there it would spool at a low rpm just climbing. was sweet.
