Thanks, guys.

I have replaced the battery once before - actually recently, so this battery going out is a bit of a shock - that's one of the reasons that I think something else may be going on. I'll let you guys know what's up when I find out more.

Perhaps the stator might not be functioning reliably...

No ma'am. I don't show some bewb - that wouldn't help me get the price lowered. Trust me. Nobody wants to see a tube sock with a lemon in it...

She rides it all the time; don't think a tender will help all that much.

May want to check the stator output before you replace the battery.

Before you hook battery up and take it out just to be safe check the regulator rectifier plug that connects to wiring harness. If there's any burnt or melted plastic its gone out. That will cause the battery not to charge.

60k isn't that high... sure there are some stator/regulator/fork seals etc. to replace along the way, but shouldn't be too bad.

if you need someone to help you test out electrical stuff and don't want to pay a shop, let me know. owning a korean bike as my first bike has taught me a lot about trouble shooting on my own.

Thank you, but I have a mechanic on the payroll (for free) and I have a friend who is a for-real mechanic.

What's the alternative to fixin' it up? If you're so attached to it that you'd have an empty spot for getting something new, then...

...face your fears. Get something you don't think you'd love - all the more special when you do start to like it. Hey wait, ever sell that blue Katana?
