What is it worth?

Been thinking lately about giving up racing cars and switching over to bikes. A friend of mine has a 04 ZX6rr that has under 6k miles and is pretty much showroom condition. Wondering what it is worth??

I am 6'4 and dont fit on most metric sport bikes very well is there a better option for me? I am not brand loyal to anything so something I would fit on would be ideal!

04 ZX6rr in prestine condition... I would say around $4.5k
regarding your fit on the bike, i would say you should fit. I am 5'11 and have plenty of room behind. But obviously its individual and subjective. Sport bikes generally designed the way that you willl feel more weight on the front, so this is normal i guess.
if you feel sport bikes too small for you, may be look at the BMW K series and other sport tourers..

At 6'2" I didnt feel exactly too big for sportbikes . I did find a really good fit on the sport-tourers type bikes. Currently I ride a 1995 Honda CB1000. Its a really big bike and it fits me fine. And still plenty fast enough to keep me out of tight spots on the road.

Just to confirm I understood your post - Are you looking to race motorcycles? If so, the touring bikes won't help you at all. Also, what kind of racing - drag or road race?

On the ninja, I would say it's worth somewhere around 2.5-3.5k USD.

I've seen people that are as tall as you riding 600s with no issues. I have also heard tall people feeling more comfortable on the gixxer 1k.

Yes race bike, road race. I have been drag racing my entire life but with cars. Me saying I am not comfortable is comparing it to riding my cruisers. LOL I guess its just a different "fit" on a sport bike that I will have to get use to. Actually found a gsxr750 2009 on craigs list for 4k low miles. Thought it sounded rather cheap but for some odd reason there is no title. Im still shopping around sure I will find something. Really ready to make a switch over to something I am burnt out on cars.

I'm 6'4". Out of an 06 1000rr, 09 ZX6, 05 R6, 08 1000rr, 08 ZX10, 07 GSXR 750 and 08 GSXR 1000 the GSXR's BY FAR fit the best. I've ridden countless other bikes including newer R6's and even an RC8.. None fit like the GSXR.

Dont take people's word for this that aren't 6'2"+ and haven't tried multiple bikes.

And no way I'd pay $4,500 for an 8 year old Zx6.

Tired of drag racing want to try something different. Plus when is the last time someone was stabbed at msr or the other track? LOL tired of the drama that goes along with hmp or the street.

Aww , Jacobs coming to the dark side.... It's a totally diff high man. I still love fast cars but being leaned over on a bike hauling the mail really hits the spot.

I'm 6'2" around 200 pounds and I have been on a 99 zx9 04 1000rr and now a 05 636 and the 6 fells a little small so probably alot for you. The zx9 was by far the most comfortable bike I have ever been on but the same can be said about the 12 and 14. As for a newer bike the 1000rr didn't feel that small at all but riding position was much more leaned forward.

I agree there is a pretty big difference in someone who is 6'1 and 6'4+. I will start looking around and see what I can find. Much easier to transport a bike to the track then trailer a car too! LOL
