Exclamation Chicken Strips on new tires and the meaning behind them...

Can someone explain me how they work? As far as I know its important to brake a new tire in and remove the goo film that's on it. A website says its a macho thing. The bigger the strip the braver a guy is... WTF?

Wrong, chickenstrips are the unscuffed parts of the tire on each side. The macho thing is to have no chickenstrips to prove that you aren't afraid to lean the bike in the turns.

Or that your Body position is so bad that you can make it look as if you can ride.

Not again. Just take it easy while u scrub your tires in. Strips don't really mean u don't lean.

chicken as in your a chicken to lean the bike and wear the tire all the way to it's edges, but some bikes just can't lean that far

if you have some 'bank indicators" on your foot pegs, you can take those off

Don't be a poser and remove them with a scotch pad or soemthing

just ride cautiously while you breakin your tires

the strips will be gone after your first track day

Chicken strips are a pathetic posers excuse for proof of talent.

There's no where on the street safe enough to ride fast enough to push the tires to the limit, if your body position and talent at high enough.

Anyone can scrub off chicken strips in a parking lot at 10 mph if they have half a brain.

Chicken strips or lack thereof prove nothing

Chicken Strips on new tires and the meaning behind them...

Chicken strips. Edges of the tires unused.

93811d1155216755 tire size chicken strips rear1

No chicken strips. Edges of the tires are clearly used.

My favorite chicken strips are from Wingstop....they also have the best french fries.

If you are a street riders and don't have chicken strips you are riding way too dangerously and are trying to wear them down....not ride a controlled ride. The track is the place to play. I know a few very fast guys at the track that still have chicken strips and they are FAST...so all chicken strips show is your lean angle.
