My dad gave me the Vanson, so I'm keeping that one. It would probably be worth it to me to have it tailored perfectly, even if it cost as much as the jacket.

this one is $556.50 from the vanson website. Vansons are American made, tough- leathers.

I haven't ever heard that, but I like the patches. Looks like law enforcement.

Probably should pass on the icon jacket. They may look good, but once you go down. The jacket will no longer be in good condition. I would recommend an alpine dyno jacket or tz-1 jacket. They are going to be of much better quality and abrasion resistance. Dainese Zen jacket is also a way better choice. When I sell a jacket I try to sway the customer more towards an Alpine or Dainese, you are just going to get better protection and quality.

I have an Icon textile jacket and gloves. I am pleased with the quality. I have never gone down, so I cant attest to their protective qualities, though. As far as Alpinestar.... I have had HORRIBLE luck with them. Their equipment has fallen apart on me and they havent been willing to stand behind their product. I will never buy A-star again.

Thanks for the input, my wife works at a stealer so my cost in substantually less than the 600! Plus next week they have a show in Houston and if you attend you can get another 5%, so it almost cover the taxes.
