Houston Citizens Against Noise Pollution & Audio Abuse/Acoustic Rape is the name of the group that put that out there.
From what I read in earlier articles about Holtsclaw he was a member of, or at least posted on the forums of, several groups like this in different cities around the country.
Apparently there are people out there that are actively worrying about how loud the pipes are on the occasional sportbike or hot rod.
Holtsclaw USED to be one of them that had some authority to do something about his beliefs.

BUT, I think people would be surprised how many people do complain about "loud pipes." At my old apt, I would get complaintS about an HD that would "shake the whole complex" when he, or she rode.

My neighbor has made mention about the "loud exhausts" on my bikes and asked me if the pipes were legal. Im sure it was his way of telling me he doesnt appreciate me starting my bikes after an oil change, etc.

So yes, there are people that complain about loud exhausts.
I can see your side in this for sure, I would be if everytime someone fired up their built Corvette it woke my newborn up, or the 15" subs coming up and down the street at 2 am, but Holtsclaw put it out there that there was huge public outcry because of the problem, when its really on a small, isloated incident sort of level. Oh and thats why I wont ever live in an apartment complex, to many neighbors who dont care.

Based on his disciplinary recordh, he was a bad officer. If it weren't for the fact that you've practically got to kill the mayor on live tv to get fired from hpd, he'd have been gone a long time ago.

i bet if you heard a 911 caller asking for an officer a street down the road - you probably turned off your radio cuz you had to UP the guy listening to his music too loud...

worthless pigs like you - give HPD and police in general - a bad name....

lol...

i had a bike that got jacked sitting on a street light... with a gun pointed at my chest a just TOOK it... with 7 other cars around me..

My house got broken into... although luckily (for them) i wasnt home..

but it really ticks me off - knowing there is so much to do for these guys - when people like him prefer giving traffic tickets to folks going 5 miles over the limit or with "noise" issues..

*sigh*

but yea - that was a good vent.. lol.. i feel better

Maybe we should take our loud bikes for a parade lap through his neighborhood and acoustically rape him (just to say so long)

...interesting to note, he does not mention any of the official reprimands or why he 'left' the helo division, nor any mention of his actions (Ie: emailing the employer of one a person who he ticketed after they prepared to fight the ticket in court).
