Here I go again...

Over the years, I've 'collected' some bikes. With the garage count at eight a few months back (including offroad), I decided to start thinning the herd. The first to go was my 1998 VFR800. Hard to do but, I sold it back in July. Now, I have the 919 for sale. I bought it last year, to help a friend out of financial trouble. I don't regret doing it, for her sake, but because it wasn't something that I really lusted after, I haven't been able to warm up to the bike. Don't get me wrong; it's a great machine. Light, nimble, reliable. It just doesn't evoke that visceral feeling. I took it to Eureka Springs, Ar. a couple of weeks ago, and had a blast. Performed flawlessly.
I'm going to keep my VTX1800. It's a big elephant but, I love it for what it is.
My wife is now thinking about selling her '06 Ninja 250. We bought it used, a few years ago and I'm guessing she hasn't put 500 miles on it. She thought she'd really take an interest in riding her own bike. I think she feels more comfortable as a passenger on mine.
I'm thinking of picking up a Versys now. Can't find a bad review on them. Seems like it would fit. Am I crazy? Is there a twelve step program for motorcycle addiction?

well, having put 24k miles on mine, it has needed nothing more than new tires, plugs and an air filter

did you actually ride one?

I did a track day on mine and ride dirt (when it's dry) and commute all year.

I'd buy it all over again.

If you want to hear about the good and bad of the Versys PM Snarky. He's a friend of mine. He's not on all that often but he's had a Versys now for just under 2 years (I think) and has put over 10,000 miles on it going on cross Texas trips. It's a true adventure bike.

He's not as good offroad as me with my KLR but I do find it tough at times to keep up with him when riding around Houston.
