Average cost for first trackday?

Well, once I have my bike paid off (which be rather soon), I will be able to attempt to finally get onto the track scene. Approximately how much will a track day cost? I already have leather track pants but I'd rather get a suit than get a jacket to zip to them, so other than a suit, back protector, and a pair of gauntlets (I already have boots, snell helmet etc.)...what costs am I going to be looking at?

Ridesmart is the cheapest. You'll get 50% off as a first time rider. Average track day is $140 so that'll be $70 for you, Then they will provide you with free leathers and boots so that it'll run you $0. You'll just need to get yourself and your bike to the track.

Let me know when you're ready, I'll shoot you a 50% off coupon code.

FREE! If you do a corner work day which I recommend anyway just to see how things run and get to know the flags by heart.

If you pay out of pocket it is anywhere from $120 to $160 depending on track, day and track day organization.

Ridesmart also provides free lunch, water and gatorade. The only place they do not provide lunch is TWS (Texas World Speedway) (track rule).

Check the sponsors section, there are several to choose from and all have their pros and cons. Just do a little research. Most offer discounts to first time riders.

If you don't like track riding, the first day will be cheap. If you love it, plan to spend about $20,000 (or more) over the next couple years.

Actually only 2 of those are site sponsors. Only two of them offer a first time rider discount. And only one offers free leather and boot rentals.

I agree though... check the sponsor section and do a little research.

Great idea, just make sure the track marshall knows it your first day waving flags....they'll likely ask you that anyhow, but make sure so you can get paired up with someone experienced to learn the ropes. CW are a very important and super under rated position for td's to happen safely.

$20k is a bit of a stretch for the modest td attendee, the person who hits the pipe hard, yeah that's not too far off....I'd say I spent about 4k/yr for the better part of 3 yrs in td riding
