You'd likely get hit with reckless driving - at least.

$1,500 - $2,000 for a lawyer. Bike impounded. Night in jail. $100 bail fee. $500 fine. 30-60 hours community service. 6 mos - year probation. Loss of CHL for 5 years and a criminal record. Not a very good trade.

Thats why you do NOT get caught... This seems like a great idea to me. I personally couldn't put up the $400 and do not have a bike that could do this trip and have a chance in of winning. I know houston to dallas can be easily done in a bit over 2 hrs with the proper bike/car. I do not think it would be a good idea to advertise this event out in the open however. At least not the start/checkpoints/finish locations.

Houston to dallas 250 miles
Dallas to SA 280 miles
SA to Houston 200 miles

7 Hrs should be about right keeping a fairly safe speed. Assuming you are a seasoned rider. Would this HAVE to be a Team event or could one person run all 3 legs? Anyone got a spare busa and $1200 laying around?

I think EACH rider has to get his own stamp and the team as a whole need 9 stamps (3 from each) to complete the "Challenge"

, that's over 100 MPH all of the time. You'd have maintain that average speed even considering gas stops and traffic. It would be a TOUGH ride.

thats what i understood as well. so all 3 at all stops. including the final one. so if you get there first but your team doesnt you still dont win.

I did something like this once years ago in the cage, but its risky business and I'm not sure if putting it on a public forum is a safe idea. The biggest issue the event had a couple years back were the civilians that called in the cops. As a result of that run, I'm not allowed back in certain counties in the state anymore, lol. Trust me the cops will pull out all the stops to shut it down if they get wind of an event. There was a plane and helicopter in the air the last time to keep track of us. But i'll tell u the truth hitting the finish line was an amazing feeling and one of a story. Good luck with the event, I'll leave it to the young bucks and people with the money for good lawyers.

I'm a maybe.......not a big fan of it being a 3 man team. If anything, I would prefer solo or two man team. ROI of the $400 just ain't good enough with a 3 man team.

It would be hilarious to see a team of 3 with 2 bikes out. 3 guys, 3 up, tucked in to cross the finish together lol

<--- My bike's over there, lol.

If you're going well over 100 MPH your MPG should be down to around 15 MPG or so. With a 5 gallon tank that means you've got to stop 9 or 1o times for gas. That's another hour or more right there.

Yeah, my interstate cruising speed used to be no less than 100 MPH but I found that my instances of getting pulled over (and occasionally going to jail) went WAY up when riding like this!!

To do this, with traffic and gas stops included, I'd think you're overall average speed would have to be up around 120 MPH. If you can ride 700 miles at that speed on Texas interstates without getting pulled over and likely going to jail then you deserve the prize!
