Two riders down hit and run in Galveston

Around 12:30ish today on the seawall I saw a silver Cadillac sedan back into and drag/push a cruiser...not sure if he slammed on the brakes and was trying to back into a spot, or if it was purposeful. Heard the crunch, looked up and saw the car backing up at a pretty good speed with a motorcycle pinned under the bumper and the rider stuck in between the bumper and motorcycle...rider was pushed 15-20 feet when the car stopped and sped off. GPD motorcycle unit was at a gas station directly in front of the scene and ran up while everything was going on, got an immediate description out so hopefully they caught the . There was a Galveston Fire/Rescue ladder truck in the area that was on scene within 30 seconds...through all the confusion I noticed there TWO cycles and riders down...one wasn't moving. Never got a look at the scene after that, a fire engine showed up (with a ladder truck already there) two ambulances and at least 5 more PD units. Saw one of the ambulances leave lights/sirens 10 mins after arrival, never saw what happened with the other one. Tried looking for a news story but no luck, any Galveston fire/EMS/police on here?

I hope the riders have nothing wrong and I hope the Caddy driver . . . . . . well, I better not say.

Cop was more worried about helping the riders than catching the car. Cop's bike was parked at the gas station facing the other way...by the time he got back to the bike, got it turned around and got through all the traffic and bystanders onto the seawall the car would've been gone.

i was in there yesterday didnt see the accident only seen ambulances going by... but i did have to tap on 2 car windows because the drivers were on the phone and not paying attention to the road... it should be law that if they are on the phone and come into our lanes we can kick the door in and rip the mirrors off.... at least in NY thats what we used to do.....

There really needs to be a cut off age for driving. At 88 yrs old she shouldnt have been behind the wheel. Ive seen old people cause more on the road recently than anyone else

Absolutely. Let her die in a jail cell. She has no regard for other people's property nor their lives apparently. her then. Why should we care for hers? She knew what she was doing trying to flee. If not, she shouldn't be allowed in public without supervision, and certainly not behind the wheel of anything. Laws weren't there to make you feel good on the inside; they're supposed to serve justice. It's no justice when someone gets a free pass because, hey, they're old. At the very least, her insurance better be paying out the to make everything right with the bikers and the car that she rear ended previously, right before she has her license revoked.
