I'm not certain, but I think you can tell by the frame. The real ones have a black frame and the fakes polished aluminum (or vice versa).

all the repsol edition is are limited color scheme plastics. there is nothing in the vin that will tell you its real. no limited edition stamped plates. when trying to determine if its real. take a good long look at the plastics and see if you can see any sign of a spray job. mkae sure the vin is an 2005. some dumb might spray an 2004 and try to pass it off as a real one. look under the seats and look for the paint code sticker. pb123=siren blue.....yr250=vibrent orange. hope this helps

I own #369. Bought new in '05. The frames are black and the vin is a different series from the standard CBRthou. A simple call to a Honda dealer or ins company should verify it if . They are mechanically identical to the other CBR's.

You sure? I had a roommate with an '05, and the dealer always asked him for his vin when ordering replacement plastics. So there must be something in the VIN that distinguishes a repsol.....even if its just production numbers.

The vin will tell if its real, but you have to have access to Honda's dealer website to get the info...

ALLWAYS12 , if you think I am not rght (Honda dealer for over 20 yrs) come on down, I'll run the one on the floor and show you (bring $20, because you're buying lunch when you lose! )

watch repsolforum.com , you can catch someone selling theirs there on occasion. I've really enjoyed mine-still gets the looks and despite the gains in electronics etc on the new ones it's still a better bike than 99% of its riders
