if you need parts please send me a pm.. I have a place that I got to get new OEM parts for really cheep price.
I work at a shop so I get discount on parts.
I'm just trying to help.

I have seen a few motors go for sale on the R6 forums for 800...900... depends.
My buddy broke the crank case of his CBR and got a "new" engine for 500. thats why I keep saying 500.. lol must price are over 1,000 bucks I know.

Any ways.. I'm here if you need some parts for better price.

Well if the guy that sold it was a mechanic also. Sounds like a cheap trick to flip it.

I agree, but there is no way to prove that he knew there were issues prior to the sale

Does insurance cover any of this? I have comp and collision on it.
If you're not going to ride it and you have a garage for your bike, cancel the insurance

Congrats on buying a good project bike. Sure you payed a little too much for it but now you have the freedom to just tear it apart and rebuild it. You don't get that kind of freedom with a good running bike. You would be too afraid to ruin it.

Just rip that thing apart. Have fun with it.

It pays off in time. Get a manual and go to town. Get a kegerator too. It makes busted knuckles and screwdriver gouges less painful.

Oh yeah, if I end up redoing everything, there will be some custom parts, lol. I am pretty good with fiberglass and carbon fiber, so we shall see what ends up happening.

Well the guy I got the bike from called me yesterday and offered to put $450 toward a motor swap and do the labor for me. It is a start, at least he is being man enough and offering to help, I just wish he would make this right and cover the full cost. I dont have the money to put in for the rest of the motor though. Now if I could only find a motor for $450

I did find this motor that seems to be just like the one in the bike, mileage and all, just have to drive to Dallas to get it:

What do you think?

Sure. Be sure to mention that it is hurt and you have no idea what is wrong with it. The cases are worth something along with the head

How much are they worth? Should I leave it apart, or put it back together?

take your bad motor apart and sale it.. just the crank case is worth over 250+
or just rebuild it for spare motor.
