USA is lucky...

Us fellow bikers over the pond in the UK and Europe are suffering at the moment, the European Union wants to change many aspects of riding bikes from compulsary ABS and the wearing of day-glo jackets to not being able to add any modifacations to bikes.

Yesterday all bikers in Europe protested, here are a few in this video that I met.

I believe its mainly because of the silly squids riding without protections at all and people doing stupid things on motorcycles. Whenever there is an excess on one side, the response is with another excess from the authorities. Its up to us, conscious riders to educate people. Just my 5cts

wow. glad we don't live over there. all that ON TOP of the graduated license system. maybe we should police our own more to prevent unnecessary gov't regulation. oh wait... some of do try to instill proper gear and discourage unsafe riding, but those that do are regarded in less than stellar regards. to them I say..." you ya little punk .... this is what is going to happen here because of your stupid antics" what you do does affect other people besides yourself.

A bloated government wants to regulate and limit something based on junk science and assumptions of politicians. Shocking.

Good luck my EU brothers. Hope you can prevent it.

That would imply our less intelligent brethren are capable of being swayed by anything other than coloring books and shiny things.

That's about how I feel. Everyone with the "let everyone just ride their own ride" and "its not your skin on the line" talk.

enough squids die...........and it becomes political.

Good point , a few can ruin it for the masses in today's regulations & laws.

that's bad news for Europe. Although i've never been, i've heard gas prices are just brutal over there. BIkes become much more a necessary part of life when times get rough and u need transportation. extra BS rules stink

Yup, the way the native Indians spelled "tire" is correct.

In EU, people ride bikes as their daily drivers. Most of them really dont have cars. So, that would really suck.

But im sure, money is being made somewhere, some one's pockets are being filled. And politically, it takes your attention away from a few economical or other big issues for time being.
