ok guys i bought this sv650s 1 month ago from a gentlman here in houston that had just moved down from virginia! ok so i went to register the title but there was one problem! he was the second owner he had purchased it from another couple in virginia and never registered it to his name.

so i called him and explained the situation and he said he would take care of the problem! he sent the title to virginia to have it transfered 3 weeks ago. now he just found out they dont except payment out of state he has to come there does this sound right?

Should have make sure that the title was under his name before you got the bike. I've been through this situation except I was the one who is selling the monster truck but was not under my name when I resell it. The credit union required me to get it under my name in order for them to pay me. Basically I had the guy to go with me to tax office to get it changed out here in TX. I was going through circles to get it sold. Good luck on your!

He moved here from Virginia. He needs to have the title transfered into his name here in Texas, and then sell the bike to you.

Tell him that if he gets it transfered into his name here in Texas, since he is now a Texas resident, it will be like he bought the bike from out of state and had it shipped here.

Go to the license office. They are very helpful and run into these situations all the time. They will be able to steer you in the right direction.
I am going thru a similar situation right now. Hopefully it will be resilved in a week or so.

The guy I bought bike from had to send the title back to the guy he bought it from. He is supposed to transfer it to his name then send it to me.
I'm having to trust this will go smoothly based on their reputations. (they are known in the racing community.)

Based on what you said it sounds like the same thing needs to happen.
The original owner should have signed the title over to the guy you bought from.
Guy number 2 can transfer to a texas title then sign over to you.
You really should go to the tax office (license office) and talk to them. they can tell you best how to proceed. do not give up on this because you have a HUGE liability hanging out there right now.
just like me :icon_smil
