I will never knock someone for their religious views/beliefs/prayer rituals unless it effects me in my personal day to day life. I believe everyone is entitled to worship whoever/whenever they want as long as it does not impede on other peoples rights/liberties. I will also admit that I am uneducated when it comes to the subject of and christianity(even though i was forced to attend baptist church as a child), and I'm always willing to learn about anyone's religion as long as they can teach me with an open mind and heart. On the other hand i can honestly say that i think some of what is said in the bible(yes i have read it) is incorrect and unfounded in science(and i will always believe proven science over a passed down story). Like i stated previously, if your willing to teach me, I'm willing to learn as long as you will respect my views and beliefs just as i will respect yours.
Religion is a sensitive subject for a lot of people, I'm just not one of them. I believe when people takes things to an extreme(in general, no one in this thread) they can get out of hand, and religious extremists are the worst(IMO that is). Holy War is , yet it's the only life many people know in this day and age. I feel there is no justification for that. Period Thanks for your time. JET

to tell you the truth, i was also forced to go to a church as a child and i have hardly ever even touched a bible, i think the bible is taken out of context, people read a verse and make it into what they want, which i dont really care how they take it, ive taken some of what i have leaned and a lot of my own beliefs and that what i believe. if you wanted to label it, i would be a christian, but i have had a couple things in my life happen to me that i cant not believe that there is something higher out there. to me that higher is , i have no proof of him, but if you want to go that route ive never seen a million dollars either, but i know its there.

i believe in him because i know he is real, again i have no proof, just stuff that i feel.

Don't be so quick to think that the guy was so taken back by the words. As a non-christian, you get accustomed to hate (maybe too strong) distaste and disgust shown toward you for disagreeing/disbelieving in their . It's more likely in recognizing the situation and needing work done, that he didn't risk having to waste time finding another repairman (if 1arm1leg had gotten offended)

It's kinda like not arguing with the wait staff BEFORE you have received your food. You don't want the secret sauce.

Having said that, I have been moved and inspired by 1arm1leg's words in the past. None of it on religion or , but on the open and honest expression of thoughts and feelings. Something I'm not very good at, but would like to improve on.

i hope i didnt offend him, and i dont think i did, plus i dont do the work, i just go out on the service calls sometime that way when a customer does stay out in the garage to watch the work, i can talk to them if they have any questions instead of stopping my guy from getting the job done.

btw, i have nothing wrong with people not believing that there is a , i just do believe ther is

Sorry Arturo, but thats pretty narrow minded to say that. There are MANY other religions which dont teach hate. I am not a christian, and I dont hate you if you dont believe in my . Actually btw, my religion says that there is only one and it does not matter which religion you choose to follow to be one with that ONE !

and back to topic, I just wish there were more folks like you Chris.:notworthy

Not neccesarily the words that were spoken in a religous matter or just a conversation peace, but the simple fact that someone could be having the best day of their life or having aboslutely nothing to complain about. Its almost like people having to have something wrong or bad happening in their life to consider a day normal.

A friend of my families in St. Louis, was paralized in an airplane crash about 2 or 3 months ago. He was one of two people to survive out of like 15. Is he in a poor mood about it, no, he knows he is lucky to be alive even though he has a long road of recovery. You seem to share the same attitude as he has and I believe that is a great thing to be able to overcome such a tragedy and have such a great attitude. I dont know if I could do it.
