Some of the best words ive ever spoken....

ok ok, just let me give you a little background first. i own a garage door business in the town i live in. we are a small business but i enjoy it. i usually go out on the service calls to talk to the customers. ok, so we go on the service call today to fix a door, the owner of the house pulled up about the same time we did. i ask him right away " how are you today?" he says fine and ask me the same. i say " i cant complain, its a wonderful day outside" he then replies " you can't complain?... you look like you would have something to complain about." i just simply replied "nope" he then asked what happen, i tell him a brief story of my wreck and how after surviving something like that i know has me here for a reason. his responce... " i dont know about , he shouldnt hinder us, If is real, why do we go thru pain?" i then replied " if there was no pain, no struggles, no hurt, what would be the point of living?, doesnt hurt us, he just lets us make a choice, how boring would life be if everything was perfect?, you would have no motivation to do anything because you would know that you have no worries. in a sence, we as humans need some pain, we need the chance to make that mistake, because if we didnt have that chance, there would be no point.

he didnt reply, i quickly said i enjoy a good argument and wasnt meaning to offend him in anyway. he nodded but did not bring up the subject of me having something to complain about again.

after this conversation, i just really thought about what i said... probably the best and most truthful words i have ever said.

just thought i would share it with yall

+1+1+1 Without suffering, and pain we would never see or appreciate the blessings. The things that I've been through in life have just as much a part in making me who I am as all the happy times. I know it's an old saying but without I don't even want to think about where I would be.

nobody knows the truth, it is man's pursuit. i was just saying that truth isn't subjective or relative, there is only one. in regards to the topic of pain, yes i too agree that there is a dichotomy between pain/pleasure, life/death, perfection/imperfection, maybe between everything that is, and without one you can't have the other.

I'm not here to argue religion though, if you want to do that, hit me up on PM's and we'll drink beer and discuss religion all day long. Maybe you can change my mind on the subject, no one else ever has, but I'm willing to learn a little more about christianity if you're willing to teach me without judging me for my views. Just a thought.

^^^^ You can have your views, just like everyone else, but when someone is stating something they DO believe and someone else leaves a stupid remark to bring his faith down is a different story.
