Why do I feel like gsxr's are bad...

at turning. hear me out right quick.

I use to own a k5 600. It was my first bike. I loved it but anytime any skilled rider would get on it( three good friends and one cousin) they would all say the same thing... It handles like !!!!

Fast forward a year. I sell it and jump on a cbr600rr. Feels great, I can lean this thing!!!! Im no kneedragger by any means, but I can point it in any direction and the bike goes there. I sold that and bought an 07 zx6r! Same thing. Handles wonderfully, dare I say, even better than the 06 cbr....

Ok, so know im thinking, maybe I should give big blue another try. Maybe I just had a lemon gixxer and they are great bikes.

So i test out am 07 750...

Immediately I get the same feeling I got in my k5... Like the handle bars wanna turn. i have to battle them to stay straight and when Im turning, I have to put alot of effort into it. I drive it back and after further inspection, it has been laid down, several times. So I attribute the handling to a bad bike

Next I test drove an 06 600, it was lowered
Guess what?? same poor handling. I cant run away from it fast enough.

Finally yesterday, I test drove a completely stock 07 600 with 1300 miles!!! Yes!! Im ecstatic!! Finally, Im going to fall in love with suzuki again.... not

It feels the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If im coming around a corner, going left, the handlebars pull in the same way, I have to battle them to stay straight as I lean!!! WTF!?!?!?!? Is it me??? Am I doing something wrong??

How can it be that the honda and kawa felt so great, so natural, and the gsxrs all feel like ???

I dont mean to start here. Like I said, I wanna fall in love with suzuki, but , after yesterday, im devistated...

Per my experience they all handle differently and have their ups and downs. As far as turning goes, the 07+ R6 and 09+ ZX-6 turn quicker. For the hondas and gixxers you have to work hard to get them to turn.

It's you. Nothing wrong with how they steer.

It could be any number of things; improper tire pressure, tires, geometry, etc. Also, they don't handle very good with fat chicks on pillion.

So they handle/steer differently? Thats like saying they ride at 60 mph differently lol. , so then that means that no matter what, all suzukis will feel the same way and its up to me, to get a feel for that type of steering and adjust??? If so, hello kawa/honda!!!! cause imho, it felt really bad

I'm pretty sure you just don't know how to operate a sportbike properly.

Ride what you want, but to say "gixxers don't handle right" just shows a total inability to turn a motorcycle properly.

i know a lot of track GIXXSTERS, have the front end raised up. i'm sure getting the suspension/geometry tuned a bit better would create a world of difference.

I had my zx-10 suspension tuned TWICE before i started becoming happy with it.

This explains why all Gixers have a tendency to wreck and show up on Youtube. Squids have been erroneously blamed for many years.

I thought my 06 600 handled better with less effort then the ZX-6R I tried (both 06's)

Never has a single problem with the way they turn. I attribute the difference to the rider position or suspension/tire geometry.
