What made you start riding

For me it started back in january after a night of drinking and smashing wings at bw3s went out for a cig and saw 2 beautiful gixxer 1000s and this wave of want came over me. From then I started having dreams about riding in such vivid detail I could feel it as if I was there riding! The itch got worse and worse. So finally in june I bought a 2010 ninja 250r SE. being a new rider to the street this turned out to be a fantastic choice. Took my msf and I've been riding since. The dream and now reality have become one and its better than I could have ever expected and imagined!

So what's your story?

I didn't really care much riding when I was growing up. although I did rode dirt bikes for 2yrs when I was 8. But then I broke my ankle. then after that my passion for riding kinda faded away for couple of years... then just recently I started riding back again because of my dad who had passed away a couple of months ago and who is also a big time rider. Just wanna continue his legacy.

My story began when I was in high school. Normal reasons for wanting to ride. Beautiful machine, sweet symphony that only comes from 10k+ rpm, small footprint and maneuverability, and most importantly the absolute freedom that only a bike can give you (on land).

Several years later I feel I have enough self control to hop on without slamming the throttle stop and showing everyone how big my junk is So I take the MSF course, get the license, blah blah blah and ride just about everyday now. Much safer than I would have a decade ago, that's for sure.

My dad always rode, my mom has her license...only a matter of time. Had a dirtbike in middle school, bought my first motorcycle when I turned 16 (Went with my Dad to pick it up, Mom flipped a when we showed up at home with it). All downhill from there. My whole family rides (mom, dad, and little brother).

My long gone grandfather used to take me places on his Yamaha when I was a golden boy... about 4+ years old.. since he passed away I always felt like I had to get my own bike.. we joked so much at his 250Yamaha ...enduro looking with dirt tires.. lol.. he was a great man, retired police sergeant .. then a cuz got a ninja, (not a 250, sorry) and I jumped on.. 5 years later and a big no "M" endorsement ticket went to MSF.. got my license, and crashed my bike 10 months later (at 30mph) totaled it.. and the rest is history

I really wanted to go offroad on a dirt bike. So I bought a DR650 dual-sport and learned how to ride.

But I had way too much fun on the country roads and through the forest that I never even got into the dirt.

Bought a street bike and never looked back.

although after seeing some offroad videos that some of the super motard guys took, i might have to reconsider

I grew up on two wheels... (bike cycles) I was able to build my own bike. so when I first started working at the shop my buddy had an R1 and that just gave me an extra push to get one.. over all I love the way they look.

Started at 5. 33 years, 4 kids, and hundreds of thousands of miles later, still at it. All the kids ride too, but the baby just rides pillion with daddy on the trails.

I wanted to look cool during high school. I then sold my bike for a sports car and realized how much i missed riding. I told myself i'll eventually get another bike and here i am back on 2 wheels.

Ironically, I started off riding because it was a cheaper method of transportation to get to high school. Now, it's my most expensive. I actually started riding a three-wheeler for recreation when I was about 8 (a lil 90). Then I started bugging my parents about getting me a car and they ended up getting me a scooter. It was on from there...

My Dad started riding when he was 14. I guess it's in the blood. He had me on his bikes before I could walk. I started out on dirt bikes and got my first street bike when I was 21, been on the streets since then.

my friend that I worked with talked about wanting a bike constantly. I've always loved cars but could never afford/justify a sportscar. When I looked up how the bikes compared to my favorite sports cars, I wanted one. My friend never got a bike as he got a girl pregnant and bought a new overpriced truck. My first track day was 2 weeks ago and now I have a new addiction.

Fear
Now I'm not afraid.
BTW - you should probably get some ointment for that itch. This heat is only gonna make it worse.

It was the easist way to get a license at 15. Back in 1988 if you were 15yo you could get a motorcycle permit in California. Took the riders cource with the chips, and was the funniest freshman in highschool rideing a honda c-70. My dad locked up my 600 ninja when he recieved complaints from the church members. Now he rides a harley, and wants me to ride with him. Trying to set a date so I can lock up his bike.
