camera and lap timer...

Did some reading on old threads and looked at adds from the suppliers...
so it seems that most everyone thinks the gopro is the camera to get..ok..
anyone else out there using something you like better?
As to lap timers I do not see any clear cut choice... so what are you guys using that works for you? Do we need beacons or do the local tracks have beacons that work with your unit...
I saw one on your bike Floyd, what was it?

do you have to use a transmitter/beacon or do the tracks have them?
I figure there is going to come a time that the sun dial I am currently using will no longer cut it.

Will you be at GSS oct 1? Track Junkie Racing will be out there, the rent timers that everyone seems to like. Maybe rent one, then buy it if you like it. I think they have a transmitter out there.

I'll be renting one oct 1

I use a GoProHD and an XT timer.

Most tracks have beacons out.

If not, they're $40 from SBTG.

Virtually every track day org. will set up a beacon.
