i am a volunteer firefighter and full time emt.

either go to a fire academy ( i recommend college of the mainland ) or find a dept that has an academy and go through the app. and testing process.

houston usually holds 2-3 tests a year for FF, austin, baytown, sugarland, missouri city.
most depts are almost always hiring

No ...If I had known sprint was gonna take this long, and I would be this long w/o a job, I would have stuck with cleaning toilets for $90 a week.

I did a 24 hour ridealong with the Austin/Travis County EMS and it was fun. I don't know if I'd be able to keep up with the odd hours all the time, but for a day it wasn't too bad.

I despise my job, but I'm stuck here. My benefits and total compensation package (salary, paid time off, HMO/DMO, retirement, 401k, stock options, etc.) are just too good for me to leave. I'm trying to make do, but I'd prefer to cut back on my hours and take on more side jobs.

Well, either that or marry someone who will help cover some of the bills while I get my business up and running (no, I'm not trying to be a gold digger, just asking for support and help in the beginning so that I can return the favor when I'm CEO of "Squeaky's Custom Painting"). :icon_bigg
