Hillcountry stops

I've been riding the hillcountry since I moved to SA, mainly the area between Hwy 16 and the 3 sisters. I know there are a few members that live in the SATX area and was hoping that you would share good spots for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon break. Thanks!

+1 on OST for breakfast.
La Four's (right across the street from the Lakehouse in Kerrville) is MUCH better (much better than you should expect for seafood in the middle of Texas).
Cowboy Steakhouse, by HEB, is 100X better than the YO for steaks, for sure.

The taco stand in Hunt has MASSIVE breakfast tacos.
Also, I'm in Hunt and I cook it up something fierce. Gimme a shout.

Looks like they both get lousy reviews...

I've never been to Cowboy's been to YO's place several times. Always seemed good to me.

Have you tried Brick's yet, a real surprise for Bandera for quality of experience and food...

I've been eating at Cowboy's since the '80s and I guarantee the quality of their steaks. It's no Pappa's steakhouse but they do a great porterhouse, ribeye and filet.

Ino'z in Wimberly is a cool lunch spot between San Marcos and Kerrville...
Neat patio seating overlooking the creek.

+1, we always stop off for the apple ice cream after doing the sisters. I've had the burgers a couple of times, very good. Seems like lunch time always comes about in the Camp Wood area for us.
