Cell Phones!!

Not really sure if someone has made this thread or not but here it goes.

Cell phones the cheap 10$ plan monthly, those are car savers. I keep a 10$ cheap little phone in my bike and car there for when time comes which it sadly will, all I have to do is give them the phone number let the police track the signal. Now the tricky part comes is were do you put the phone to were they wouldn't look?

This would work on the cheap, add a resistor to the power side, and you would never have to remove it.
I've never had a piece of tail I didn't like, it was the woman attached to it I didn't care for.

^ I think that one you have to recover the device then download the info on where it has been. The real time ones arent much more expensive other than you have to add it to your cell plan that uses a gsm card.

To the OP you have alot of faith in the police trying to track down your vehicle. I would love to see the cops face when you tell them you have a prepaid cell phone in the car to track it.

I love the idea of being able to track your own vehicle. LoJack, meh. Locating your bike after it has been stolen is only effective when you can recover it within 24 hrs. After that, it's most likely been man-handled. I would love to just catch the asshats that stole it. Get rid of them, then you let the insurance take care of the rest. , I hate theives...

There was a member of some time ago, an electrical engineer IIRC, that added a GPS enabled phone to his cell plan. He modded a smaller case together for the phone guts and mounted it on the bike. You wouldn't figure it was a phone by looking at it.

According to his posts he rigged the phone to auto-text him a pretyped message if the alarm went off and he could track the gps on the phone through the carrier website.

The cops are not gona track a phone to get your car or bike back they are not detectives much less super heros. If your going to get your car back your self you beter be packing heat too.
