I honestly can't believe they are getting away with that. I own some guns for fun, some for business and some for insurance. None are available to be confiscated and I would not want to be the person who tried. I am a normal law abiding citizen but when the hair stands up on the back of my neck, it is best to steer clear.

Here are a couple of tax stamp goodies for you! I bought the M16 in 1998 and the M11/9 in 1996.

O.K., before this becomes a match. What happened is wrong, PERIOD.
The 2nd Amendment clearly protects a citizens right to bear arms.
IF, you do choose to own a semi-auto or even full auto rifle, and you can pass the background checks, you can.

As far as machine guns on the street?
Criminals will get weapons, whether it's legal or not, that's why they're called "criminals" .

Charles, it's your right to not want to have a gun in the house, but it's mine also if I do.
Irregardless it is NOT the right of the government, whether it be local or federal, to take that right away.

It's no different than if the government decided to "temporarily suspend" the 16th Amendment.

Like i said tha'ts my opinion. And only if it were up to me would I outlaw automatic rifles and the whole lot. Side arms are cool like i said i don't like them but hey i can compromise. Then again I think those types of guns are mostly for enthusiasts only for the most part much like buying a liter bike for the street so i can see why buying them is ok. Though they are just not for me.

It looks like there is some history between these guys so I will stay out of it but seriously, this forum is for intelligent debate not personal attacks.

The general public should have access to automatic weapons if they choose to jump through the hoops and deal with the paperwork. The truth is, the law that regulates machine guns and other NFA firearms is flimsy. The government made a Prohibition-era ruling based on regulation of interstate commerce against two defendants that could neither afford attorneys nor were literate enough to fight it. In fact, they were never in court to fight it. Voila, a new item to regulate and a new class of criminal were created out of otherwise law abiding citizens. As a side bonus, we got a new government bureaucracy out of the deal. Welcome BATF! It is interesting that a flimsy decision made by a judge in a case against two moonshiners has stood up in direct violation of the Second Ammendment to the constitution.

Anything but a socialist here but you like other republicons try to stick labels on everything. if someone doens't agree whole heartedly with every step of their ideals they label you a socialist. :eh:

Curious question for those who argue that the 2nd amendment allows for semi-automatic weapons:

Do you think that the 2nd amendment should allow for RPG's, Fully automatic M4 Carbine + mods, High-power sniper rifles (i.e. the M4OA3) or items such as the Javelin anti-tank missile (for those who could afford the 800k+ tab/ missile)?
