06 1K Actually.
The bike is being financed, so its not like I had cash on hand when i bought it. PLus, as I said I went down in the jacket so I had to buy a replacement, when it was time to buy the replacement cash was tight. Since cash was tight should I have sold my bike? Should I have just not bought a jacket since I couldnt afford the nicest one?
I have my priorities and they are to have the best protection I can afford on me. Circumstances prevented me from being able to buy a $700 vanson jacket though.
Sorry my gear doesnt meet your approval.

Kinda like buying a new sportbike but cant afford full coverage ins. People never look at TCO (total cost of ownership). I tell my friends when they buy a new bike, budget at least 1k on gear. Yet they spend $500 on a slip on.

Its an 06 actually.
I didnt buy the bike and jacket at the same time. The bike is being financed, so i pay monthly. When it came time to purchase the jacket, cash was kinda tight. So, what is it I should have done?
Should I have sold the bike? because obviously Im not supposed to ride a nice bike without a nice jacket.
Or should I have just not worn a jacket for the time it would have taken me to save up the cash for a vanson or dainese?
I put the best protection I could afford on my back. When i can afford better, I will get better, but I certainly dont think its cool to come down on people for wearing Icon or JR, at least we're wearing gear.

as for full coverage insurance. I pay just under $300 per year for liability, for full coverage insurance i would pay more than $3000 per year. that just doesnt make sense. Id pay for my bike in like 3 1/2 years.

well....whatever you decide to get (i personally think you should go JR...but that's just me) go to www.sandhillmotorsports.com . I got my JR heartbreaker jacket from them and it was sooooo cheap. much cheaper than the ebay and local store price!

You will be when you wreck that pretty bike you got there man or worse yet wake up and bike is bye bye.

the prob. w/ that ZEN jacket and my dainese, is the back of the jacket isn't very long. if your in a crouched position, the back rises and exposes your lower back or undies. if it's zipped to a pair of pants no prob. or if you ride a more standard bike, the rise isn't going to matter much. but most of us are into sport bikes, so take that into consideration when getting THIS jacket.

Fieldsheer makes an awesome perforated leather jacket. All black with CE armor. Looks good and works well according to Stephe O Chap.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this---
for two a two piece suit Dainese has zippers that are reversed from all the other brands. Sooo if you get dainese jacket, one must get dainese pants for them to zip together. Also the insert for back protector is kinda small, I like the Spidi back protector insert more. Those are my only gripes about dainese. Besides that the leather is more comfy than anything else I have tried.

I also like spidi and spyke (hard to find in us)

? you only have liability on a bike you are financiing? how much did you put down? i hope for your sake that you never have to see it wadded up or have it disappear on ya as it would have to suck to have make payments on something you dont have.

Patrick sells some Knox protectors that fit nicely under the jacket that will also help a lot more then those little inserts.

exactly my point, you need the seperate back protector for dainese whereas with spidi the insert warrior back protector looks pretty sweet to me
